Iron Flame: Episode 12: Chapters 56-60

This week on Rekindling the Pages, Deya and Liz dive into Chapters 56–60 of Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. This episode is a five-chapter chaos sprint and the dragons are not ready for nap time. Violet finally cracks the ancient wardstone code (Draconic 101, anyone?) and lights up the sky with six dragons and a Hail Mary rune. But just as the squad’s celebrating not dying, Xaden’s like, “Hey babe, I can read your intentions,” and Violet’s romantic life promptly explodes.

Cue a tense reunion in Athebyne, mom with a fresh truth bomb, and a casual corpse-dive that ends with Violet frying a wyvern like it’s snack time at Basgiath. From there, it’s dagger sparring, heartfelt apologies, and the realization that Samara isn’t the target. Basgiath is.

Now it’s panic mode: maps dropped, squads assembled, and the world’s worst road trip (dragon edition) takes off. At Basgiath, things look way too quiet… until they find Jack Barlowe playing evil overlord with a dragon puppet and smashing wardstones like it’s open mic night for villainy. RIP Baide.
